As at now all the public and private primary and secondary schools are on holiday since the 4th March of last month to allow the operation of the 2022 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education and Secondary Education.
All the national exams had ended As at 1st April 2022 with kcpe examinations having been marked and released .The process of placement of of form ones was also done on Monday 11th April 2022.
The KCSE marking kicked off following the reporting of Examiners in various marking centres, the process is in its second final week as it is expected to finalize.
The Kenyan government through the Ministry of Education has provided a new school calendar that will be used as primary and secondary schools will be prepared to report for the 2022 school calendar this month.
At the same time, even if there are increased worries in the year being short, there is already a program that is meant to ensure a smooth transition from one year to another in 2023.
As per to the newly revised full school calendar for 2022,all primary and secondary school continuing learners are expected to report back to school and start the first term on 25.04.2022.
Therefore ,all form ones will start reporting to their new schools as from 3rd May 2022, which is exactly one week extension after other students have reported.
This is meant to allow parents have enough time for preparation for their students joining form one.
All learners then shall be a break for half term for three days from 26.05.2022 to 29.05.2022.
The holiday for term one will be on 02.07.2022 till 10.07.2022.
Equally term 2 will pick on 11 .07.2022 to 16.09.2022.
Then lastly third term will start on 26.09.2022 and third term will have no half term as it will be short, non-candidate classes will close on 26.11.2022 for holiday to pave way for 2022 KNEC examinations.
The academic calendar will normalize starting 2023 January
