The teachers in primary and secondary schools who are interested in serving as examiners for the upcoming national exams are now invited to apply for the positions.

 

Tuesday, August 16 Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) announced that it was accepting applications from qualified instructors for the upcoming Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) and Kenya Certificate of Primary Education examiner training programs (KCPE).

 

Above KNEC training is scheduled to begin on September 18, 2022, and last for six days until September 24, 2022, on Saturday.

 

Candidates shortlisted must pay a training cost of Ksh10,500.

 

 

KNEC will be conducting training for teachers to prepare them to become examiners for the KCPE and KCSE examinations.

 

Venues for training will be communicated to the qualified applicants at a later date.

 

 

 

 

Part of the statement read,”Shortlisted applicants will be notified on how to make the payment. The successful trainees will be incorporated into the KNEC examiners’ database. They will thereafter be engaged based on the needs using the criteria on recruitment of examiners.”

 

 

The Kenya National Examinations council is also seeking to tutor teachers who will handle English Composition and Kiswahili Insha in primary schools as well as Geography and Christian Religious Education in high schools.

 

The other subjects in high school are History & Government, Islamic Religious Education, Agriculture, Home Science, Computer Studies and Biology.

 

Procedure on How to Apply

 

All the interested applicant must be a practising teacher in the relevant subject areas and should possess a valid Teachers Service Commission (TSC) number.

 

Also applicants should also have a minimum qualification of P1 for the KCPE examination with a minimum of a C (plain) at in the subject they are applying to train and should be holders of at least a Diploma in Education (and above) for KCSE marking.

 

 

 

 

The other mandatory requirements are a minimum teaching experience of three years, free from any disciplinary action by TSC and should be aged 50 years or below.

 

In adding, the applicants are expected to access the KNEC examiners’ portal using the link .

 

Teachers with CP2 accounts should log into the portal using their usernames and passwords.
