Kuccps Issues New Hope For All Students Who Scored C+ (plus) and Above in KCSE Examinations Between 2016 and 2022
Now the Kenya Universities and College Placement Services (KUCCPS) led by Chief Executive Officer,Agnes Mercy Wahome, has allowed the admission of students who scored a mean grade of C+ prior to the year 2016.
The above program would also allow the students to benefit from funding like Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) and other government funds.
The Prior to 2016,the Joint Admissions Board (JAB) which was succeeded by KUCCPS placed students who scored a mean grade of B (plain) to public universities and in other cases like disability or disadvantaged students were allowed to join universities with a mean grade of B (minus).
This move made those who scored C (+) and were left out to join universities under the self-sponsored programmes while others opting to join Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions.
T move also disadvantaged those who scored C (+) but could not afford school fees for self sponsored programmes.
