Education Secretary General Belio Kipsang has announced that the 2022 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results will be released by January 23, 2023.
Speaking in Nairobi County on Friday, December 23, he said the ministry has put plans in place to ensure results are released before schools reopen.
He disclosed that the marking of the examination, which was completed on Friday, was carried out and some teachers were involved in the work.
“As we mark the end of the 2022 National Examination cycle today, all examiners and examiners will be busy in the New Year as the 2022 KCSE Marks will begin immediately.”
Regarding the first form selection, PS has announced that the 2022 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) candidates will enter their secondary schools on January 16, 2023.
He told the students that no one would be discriminated against and the process would be transparent.
“We want to assure all parents, guardians and students that we will be transparent, fair, and do what is right to ensure that every child gets the school of their choice and they deserve,” he said.
On his part, Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) CEO David Njengere maintained that the body was fair in KCPE marking and said the same would continue for KCSE students.
“We are trying to find out the marks that our kids got, what they got from the answer sheet.
“Our probationers will work diligently to ensure that our children get what they deserve for doing their part to give them their best,” said Kipsang.
The KCPE 2022 results were released by Education CS Ezekiel Machgu on Wednesday, December 21.
Lewis Otieno Omondi and Fwaro Makokha were the top students with 431 marks each.
